A unique place to stay on the Costa de Azahar

At Casa Arizo, our aim is to be good hosts, providing personalised service to our guests in a warm and friendly atmosphere.

Fachada Casa Arizo

Casa Arizo is located in the historic centre of Oropesa del Mar in Castellón. This charming house, built in the Valencian Modernist style in 1911, was carefully restored in 2009, taking great care to preserve the architectural and decorative features of the period.

Asun and Juan Arizo are the hosts and offer a warm, friendly welcome that makes guests feel right at home. The concept of a typical Valencian guesthouse evokes the peaceful, romantic lifestyle of days gone by, but with all the modern comforts.

The house was commissioned by Mr José Rivera Forner, steward to the Counts of Cervellón, lords of Oropesa. The owners were Carmen Rivera Llorens, daughter of Mr José Rivera, and Juan Arizo Olmos, a doctor originally from Valencia.

VALENCIAN MODERNIST STYLE

In the Valencian Modernist style, incorporating today’s functional and technological requirements.

The first floor has been decorated with features that reflect the forms and colour schemes of the Modernist style; the floor is laid with tiles featuring a hydraulic mosaic pattern, and the furniture, which is original to the house, dates from the same period.

The floor comprises a large suite and two further rooms of varying sizes, notably the distinctive Petite Classique – a compact yet highly original room – and the Macael.

VALENCIAN RUSTIC STYLE

A beautiful rustic-style home featuring reclaimed furniture and objects

The second floor is decorated in the rustic Valencian style; the rooms retain their original flooring and feature restored traditional furniture and objects that evoke a sense of nostalgia.

The rustic décor of Casa Arizo features a mix of materials and decorative elements, which the Arizo brothers have brought together to create a unique style; after all, village houses always conceal unexpected and charming details.

The house’s architecture is characterised by its handcrafted ceramic floors and wooden-beamed ceilings.
